Continental Tide is seeking a motivated Contract Specialist to join our team. The Subcontract Specialist is  the owner of the subcontract and the subcontractor relationship from initiation through execution in operations, up to and including the closure of the subcontract .

As a Contract Specialist your responsibilities shall include but not be limited to the following:

  • Knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards fundamentals
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports and contract deliverables for projects, as assigned.
  • Work with Project Managers IRT the financial tracking of Projects, including Labor, ODCs, SubK's IOT analyze expenditures versus estimates.
  • Communicates with management/subcontractors/customers regarding project cost, staffing, scheduling, contracting, and sub-contracting.
  • Coordinate with Production, Quality Assurance, Purchasing, customers and vendors to develop and discuss estimated costs for RFQ, RFP or work package.
  • Develop and maintain material lists for inclusion in ship’s index drawings, updates, produces and tracks milestones/POA&M GANTT charts/critical path reports.
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office (excel, word, project, etc.).
  • Support Project Managers IRT the timely identification of financial issues impacting projects and assist with resolution.
  • Able to work independently or in a group.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Assist in the planning, execution, and tracking of office-related projects.
  • Coordinate project resources, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Provide administrative assistance to office management, including scheduling meetings, handling correspondence, and maintaining records.
  • Act as a point of contact between various departments and teams within the office.
  • Facilitate communication and coordinate efforts to meet project and operational goals.
  • Maintain accurate records, document project progress, and prepare reports as needed.
  • Assist in identifying areas for process improvement and optimization.
  • Communicates directly with management/subcontractors/customers regarding project cost, staffing, and scheduling.
  • Work with Management on generating and reviewing work package estimates.

 

 

Experience and Skills

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Office Management, or relevant field.
  • Previous experience in contracting and sub-contracting within the Defense Industry
  • Experience preparing and analyzing financial reports and contract deliverables for projects
  • Proven experience in office administration or project coordination.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and office management software.
